Hypnobirthing – A Mental Health Tool
As a tribute to World Mental Health Day, I’m sharing this post I wrote for Instagram, being really passionate about talking about mental health is something that I’ve since being a teen.⠀ ⠀ When I fell pregnant with Charlotte, my mental health very quickly started to suffer and I knew I had to do something about it 🤰⠀ ⠀ Looking after your mind during pregnancy and birth is so so important – it’s a huge transition in any person’s life and hypnobirthing really can help you to feel safe and in control.⠀ ⠀ So how can hypnobirthing be used as a mental health tool? 🤷🏿♀️⠀ ⠀ 👶 You will learn how your mind works and ways to protect it during pregnancy & labour ⠀ ⠀ 🧘♀️ Breathing techniques and anchors to help you to feel calm & focused in ALL birth scenarios ⠀ ⠀ 💛 How to take control of your own decisions which will help you to feel like you are in the driver’s seat ⠀ ⠀ 🙋♂️ The tools are just as much for your partner as they are you, if they understand everything- they will also feel in control ⠀ ⠀ 🍁 Learning how to plan for your birth whilst looking at ways to take control if birth doesn’t go to plan⠀ ⠀ Mental health is something that we all have yet it’s something we often don’t prioritise, yet I’d go as far as to say that it’s one of the most important elements of healthcare!⠀ ⠀ Take time out for you, do what makes you happy, and always speak up if you need extra support – you are not alone💛⠀
